NewsWay automation saves time at the
Visalia Times-Delta and Tulare
Advance-Register
- produces higher print quality, less waste and improved
productivity
- manages two new CtP
lines
Princeton,
NJ – April, 2008:
When the Visalia Times-Delta and Tulare
Advance-Register, California,
decided to implement CtP technology it knew it had to
provide its new Screen machines with complete digital
pages. This meant a solution that could integrate the digital files coming from
a variety of pre-press systems as well as provide sophisticated page-pairing
complete with fan-out, and load share the driving of two new CtP lines and an optical plate bender.
The solution
selected was ProImage NewsWay.
Some of the
financial and environmental benefits of NewsWay already enjoyed by the
newspaper include a reduction of waste - plates, newsprint and ink - as well as
improved productivity.
“NewsWay was
very easy to learn and understand. It also consistently runs without
problems,” said Dee Dee Gober, Information Technology
Director, Visalia Times-Delta and Tulare Advance-Register. “We wish all
vendors operated the way ProImage does. It would
make other projects much easier to complete. Their technical and sales
support is really excellent.
“We find the
fan out, automated page pairing, page viewing, and reporting features
particularly valuable,” David Sutton, Operations Manager, adds. “NewsWay has
consolidated a number of different people in different areas into one person in
one area, and this has allowed us to allocate human resources to other
projects.”
“ProImage
prides itself in developing industrial strength software for the needs of
newspapers of all sizes,” says Rick Shafranek, VP of Sales, New
ProImage America. “The sophisticated feature set of NewsWay addresses the
highly complex needs of newspapers publishing multi-edition, multi-zone
publications. However not every publisher needs that sophistication, so why buy
features you don’t yet need?
“Because
NewsWay is modular it is also perfect for smaller newspapers with more limited
requirements, such as the Visalia
Times-Delta and Tulare
Advance-Register - and it can always be upgraded if the need arises.”
Integration and control:
At the Visalia Times-Delta and Tulare Advance-Register, NewsWay takes digital
files from Managing Editor’s ALS, Mactive’s PGL, OneVision’s Asura, Baseview NewsEditIQue, QuarkXpress, GMG’s Ink Optimizer, DPS’ AdTracker,
and Adobe Creative Suites, and integrates them to provide one easy-to-use
end-to-end production workflow solution.
